Safe Travels, seriously

If you’re like us, there’s really not a lot that can keep you from traveling.

More than likely, the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown gave you a reason to start planning that revenge trip. Now, more than ever, people are itching to book flights and hotels to get away from their usual day-to-day working from home. And don’t get us started on all those cancelled vacations back in 2020…

For some of us, travel never stopped. For others, working safely from home was the way to go. But it’s safe to say that wanderlust doesn’t disappear. And that goes for all of us.

Travel is inevitable, we get it. And we’re definitely not out here telling you to stop traveling.

It goes without saying that NaviSavi is committed to the safety of our community and users. So, when we say “safe travels”, we mean it.

Below are a few recommendations we believe will keep you out of harm’s way, from home to hotel.

Get Vaccinated

If you already got the shot, good. If not, go get it! We know we sound like a broken record and you’ve probably heard it everywhere and then some. Still, it’s important and we definitely suggest getting it sooner than later.

Be sure to keep your Vaccination Card safe and on your person as much as possible. Some countries, attractions, and venues require proof of vaccination. A copy of the card, picture of the card, or other forms of proof may be accepted as valid.

Check the CDC website

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updates their website regularly with new information and details regarding COVID-19 on global and national scales. Among these resources is the COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by Destination, which categorizes each country by risk level. Another useful resource is the COVID-19 Travel Planner, where you can search destinations in the United States and find travel guidelines by state.

Wear a Mask

More sounds from the broken record machine. Make sure you’re bringing a mask with you wherever you go. Most public transportation and airports still require a face mask to be worn covering your mouth and nose. Once you’re outdoors, take that sucker off (at your own discretion)!

Get Tested and Quarantine Accordingly

We’re not going to give you a laundry list of destinations that require testing and quarantine periods. But we do think it’s important to get tested regularly (especially if you’re not yet vaccinated) for your safety and the safety of those around you. Some countries still require negative test results and a quarantine period upon arrival, usually for international travelers.

Don’t forget to check the CDC website and/or Board of Tourism of the country you’re visiting before you plan that trip! A 2-week quarantine during your 1-week vacation overseas would be less than ideal…

Show us where you’ve been traveling via NaviSavi! Make sure to mention any important information regarding an attraction’s COVID-19 restrictions or regulations in the video details when uploading - you’ll be helping other travelers prepare for their visit in advance.

Until next time, safe travels!
